BCAL also sponsors the Legion’s Oratorical Contest (http://www.legion.org/oratorical) for high school students aged 16-20 and offer the BCAL Gene Howell/Don Holmes Scholarship which is awarded to three (3) seniors in high school.
Besides recognizing the winners above, BCAL present numerous awards for Americanism Programs such as Coloring Contest and Safety Essay offered in grades 4-8, recognize Police, EMT and Fire Department for heroism, and teacher of the year at our annual Convention and Awards Ceremony in May.
